Abstract

The aim of this paper is to introduce the concept of regional boundary strategic actuators for parabolic systems. Then we give characterization of such actuators in order that regional boundary controllability can be achieved. The obtained results are applied to a two-dimensional system and various cases of actuators are considered. We also develop numerical example that leads to some conjectures related to the best actuator location for a given boundary subregion target. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
