Abstract

Six new co-polymers based on thiophene and phenylene, prepared by Stille coupling reactions, were synthesized and characterized. The polymerization degrees of the different co-polymers are estimated by Gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The infrared and Raman scattering results confirm the proposed structures. The UV-vis results show that the absorption maximum (λmax) values are sufficient to consider applications of these co-polymers in the opto-electronic field. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
