Abstract

This paper is devoted to extend the notion of regional gradient observability of a distributed parameter system governed by semilinear parabolic equations to boundary case. This original concept consists in studying the gradient observability of such a system only on a subregion Γ of the boundary of the system evolution domain ∂Ω. We give definition and some properties of this notion and we show that under some hypothesis, the regional boundary gradient observability is guar anted. We show by means of Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM) combined with fixed point techniques that it is possible to reconstruct such a gradient on a desired subregion T. This approach leads to interesting results which are performed through numerical example and simulations. © 2012 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.
