The present paper gives an analysis of a Parabolic Linear Fresnel (PLFR) system performance. The given assessment would show how the performances of a Linear Fresnel concentrator are influenced by using curved heliostats. A global simulation code has been developed for this purpose. Based on the Monte Carlo /Ray Tracing method, the code is used for the visualization and the analysis of optical interactions and the simulation of radiative transfer between the sun and the receiver in PLFR systems using cylindro-parabolic heliostats (curved heliostats). A validation step has been established in order to verify and validate the simulation code. This step has been based on a comparison between PLFR code simulation results and those obtained by SolTrace software and would be thereafter presented. The performances analysis of the system has lead to an agreement between PLFR configuration and its performances. © 2015 IEEE.
