Abstract

The supplier selection problem is one of the strategic decisions that have a significant impact on the performance of the supply chain. In this study, supplier selection problem of a well-known refining company in Africa is investigated and an integrated DEMATEL-ANP-TOPSIS methodology is used to select the best supplier providing the most customer satisfaction for the criteria determined. DEMATEL method is used in order to detect the cause and effect interaction among main criteria. The weights of criteria are calculated using Analytic Network Process approach and then the modified TOPSIS has been applied for the final selection. The supplier which is closest to the ideal solution and farthest from the negative ideal solution is selected as the best supplier. © Springer International Publishing AG 2018.
