Abstract

Coordinates measuring machines are important units for measuring mechanical parts quickly and with great precision. The CMMs must be reliable to succeed their mission within the chain of production. The performance of the CMM is in part affected by the errors coming from probe system and errors coming from the machine. This paper presents an application of the CMM separation method, in order to identify the absolute values of probe errors and machine errors. The proposed approach has been tested and validated by experimental measurements. © 2016 IEEE.
