Aqueous aerated solutions of aminoguanidine (AMG) of concentrations AMG0 varying from 10-5 to 6 x 10-4 M have been submitted to the action of OH. and O2.- free radicals produced by gamma radiolysis of water. The evolution of the disappearance yield of AMG, G(-AMG), versus AMG concentration has been determined. The G-value obtained for the plateau of the dilution curve, is equal to 2.2 x 10-7 mol/J. Several hypothesis involving in addition to the action of OH. free radicals, these of O2.- free radicals and/or of hydrogen peroxyde are discussed.
